Rock temple dedicated to Amun, Ra-Harakhty & Ptah
New Kingdom, XIX Dynasty (1298-1187 BC)
Ca. 1244-1224 BC, Ŧ Ramses II (1279-1213 BC)
Comments: This rock temple is the most spectacular of the seven
temples built in Nubia. This is the center-piece of monumental "impe-
rialist propaganda" campaign by Ramses II. His four colossal (22 m
high) statues iconographically represent the image of the deified king.
