Theban Triad Temple: Ramses II expansion
New Kingdom, XIX Dynasty (1298-1187 BC)
Ŧ Ramses II (1279-1213 BC)
Comments: A major enlargement of the temple complex was carried
out by Ramses II (1279-1213 BC), who added a large court and a
pylon with obelisks and colossal statues. This was the usual method of
extending a temple: by building in front of the existing structure.
