West Bank, Governorate Al-Uqsur: Valley of the Kings Royal Necropolis New Kingdom (1550-1069 BC), XVIII-XX Dynasties XVI-XI centuries BC |
Comments: The Theban Necropolis is an area of the west bank of the Nile, opposite ancient Egyptian city of Thebes (modern Luxor). It was used for ritual burials for much of Pharaonic times, especially in the New Kingdom of Egypt (XVIII-XX Dynasties). Very dry and hot place! |
