Museo Alberto Ruz Lhuillier: Incense burner stand
Late Classic (600-900 AD)
600-900 AD
Comments: Most of incense burners feature the face of Fire God as
the night-time and Underworld aspect of Sun God. The kindling and ex-
tinguishing of fire were also important parts of the ceremonies because
the creation of fire was a central theme in archaic reincarnation myths.
