Temples I, II & III
Late Classic (600-900 AD)
VII-IX centuries AD
Comments: Temples I, II & III soar above the sea of vegetation. The actual temple buildings are positioned on solid, pyramid-shaped bases and crowned by a cresteria or "roof-comb", whose only function is to decorate the building and make its appearance even more imposing.
