Comments: Amapolla tree (Pseudobombax elipticum) was cultivated by Maya in their cities. In spring, just before the rainy season starts, its leaves turn bright red and the tree is covered in blossom. Its juice was fermented to make a highly intoxicating drink for ritual ceremonies. |
