Comments: This altar presents a historical scene whose interpretation is still unclear. Two people (probably the king of Tikal and a distant re- lative) exhume the bones of a noble person, probably the wife of Jasaw Chaan K'awiil. The altar was originally placed flat in front of Stela 16. |
